Can you believe Halloween is right around the corner? The summer flew by and now all the fall holidays are creeping up on us. While I’m not a huge candy fan, I do love celebrating Halloween. I love to dress up and either go trick or treating with my nieces or go to fun Halloween parties.
Since I’m not a huge fan of sweets and candy, I thought I’d share a fun “spooky” treat that you can feel good about giving your little ones when they are looking for an afternoon snack or an after dinner dessert. These are pretty healthy for you since they are low in sugar but the kiddos won’t care because they are delicious and adorable!
Banana Ghosts
-1 banana, halved & sliced in half horizontally
-chocolate chips
-shredded coconut
-1/2 cup white chocolate or yogurt
Peel the bananas, cut in half, then slice the halves horizontally to get 4 pieces from one banana.
Place the shredded coconut on a plate that will be easy for rolling the banana slices in. If using the white chocolate, melt in a microwave safe container. Take one slice of banana and dip into the white chocolate or yogurt. Quickly roll the banana into the shaded coconut & using the chocolate chips, make a face with eyes, nose and mouth. Repeat with the rest of the banana slices. Set in freezer to firm up or in the freezer for a frozen treat. Have you picked out a Halloween costume yet? We’d love to hear what your little ones are going to dress up as this year.
